Having done Honours in Physics and Astronomy, I decided that I
wasn't completely sure I wanted to do a PhD, and wanted to take a
break from science. Port Jackson Partners offered me a job based on
my analytical and problem solving skills, despite a lack of
business exposure. More than ten years later I still find the work
continually stimulating and interesting, albeit very different from
how I'd imagined my working life. I particularly enjoy the
diversity of experience of consulting offers as well as the
opportunity to keep gaining new skills and knowledge.
Range of clients and projects
Since joining Port Jackson Partners in 2001, I have worked with
clients in a range of industries, including energy, property,
mining, infrastructure and building materials. I have worked on
studies focused on setting long term corporate and business unit
strategies, developing risk management strategies, organisational
redesign and corporate and financial restructuring. It is
continually satisfying to work with clients on the problems which
are most critical to their futures.
A great support network
Working at PJPL means I work with a fantastic group of people
who all have a passion for working on important problems for our
clients. The partners are very supportive and always willing to
help individuals develop their full potential.
Flexibility in employment
I have worked for Port Jackson Partners since 2001 and my role
has changed over that time.
I have two children, and following my time on maternity
leave, I have been working part-time. This flexibility
means I can continue to work at PJPL on important issues while also
spending time with my son and daughter.
