The type of work we do
The nature of the corporations with which we work varies
enormously. Our clients are of a size that they would be in the 100
largest Australian Corporations. They are typically listed companies
but a few are large government owned corporations. More often than not
we have an active relationship with a leading company in each industry
from financial institutions (eg. investment banking, commercial
banking, insurance) service industries (eg. leading real estate, law
and accounting firms), industrials (eg. steel, building materials,
construction, technology) and resources (mining, energy etc). Our
studies, however, generally fall under two main categories:
- Strategy studies involve helping clients plan
corporate direction and strategy. This includes resolving specific
critical issues; developing strategies for specific business units; and
assessing potential acquisitions or maximising the value from divesting
a business unit. More often than not, the challenges of today involve
the client searching for growth opportunities and ways to reposition
themselves in the industry for greater advantage and profitability.
- In Organisation studies we help prepare a client's
corporate organisational framework so that it is best able to implement
its strategic direction and operational priorities. This ranges from
designing the organisational structure to implementing management
processes (such as performance measurement or incentive arrangements),
and helping a client with issues of corporate governance.
